According to statistics, the Internet diagnosis and treatment in the National Health Commission's affiliated hospitals increased by 17 times compared with the same period last year. On some third-party Internet service platforms, the number of consultation for diagnosis and treatment has increased by more than 20 times and the number of prescriptions by nearly 10 times year-on-year. It can be seen that under the new situation, the "Internet + medical and health" market has great potential, and its development potential can be further explored.

Medical treatment, a traditional industry with high technical threshold, has been regarded as the most difficult fortress under the Internet wave.

Till now, Good Doctor Cloud Health has partnered with more than 100,000 grass-roots clinics (including village clinics), covering nearly 30 provinces/cities and 1,000 districts/counties in China, serving more than 2 million patients in 2019.

 

Due to the large amount of medical imaging data (in Gigabit), once remote consultation is to be carried out, files are often uploaded by downstream medical institutions in advance, and downloaded by upstream medical institutions in advance, otherwise it would be difficult to interact in real time.  Moreover, poor network transmission rate and unsatisfactory clarity and lake of fluency of consultation video will also affect effect of diagnosis and treatment.

Under this background, Good Doctor Cloud Health has launched remote imaging, remote B-ultrasound, medical meeting and other products. In collaboration with scholars from Taiwan University, it has developed APPs such as AI-assisted diagnostic tool "Traditional Chinese Medicine Brain" and "Good Doctor Medical Encyclopedia".

Yang believes that with the popularization of 5G network and more medical devices become compatible with 5G network, there will be more and more application scenarios of AI to facilitate doctor-patient interaction.

 

 

In Internet medical care, medical information sharing makes medical services more efficient and patients more convenient in their seeking for medical treatment. However, while the sharing of patient information brings convenience to people, it may also lead to some security problems brought by the Internet.

Yang believes that sharing information is a good thing in itself, but also it's a difficult one. The difficulty lies in the need to the demolishing of traditional barriers of interest, and also in the fact that the new challenges for information protection need to be solved. However, when the reform into the deep water, fear of difficulties will bring no way out. What's the way out? It lies in reform and innovation.

In Yang opinion, the Internet medical care should put the medical services foremost, and the Internet is only carrier of such services. But when it comes to the shortage of high-end talents in the Internet medicine industry, Yang pointed out the difficulties at present.

Compared with Beijing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou and other cities, Chengdu has a limited number of high-end talents in the Internet sector, and the corresponding high-end operation talents in this field are even "hard to find with lanterns". Yang explained that excellent operation talents can efficiently and scientifically organize and integrate the Internet medical service contents, and improve the accessibility, retention rate and activeness of users, which is critical for platform products.

However, in the talent reward system of Chengdu and even Sichuan, operational talents cannot reach the professional degree of technical talents. In addition, the government has not yet issued relevant talent incentive policies, resulting in Chengdu's insufficient attraction to Internet operation talents.

Yang hopes that, in the future, Chengdu can learn from Beijing, Hangzhou and other regions with advanced Internet technology. While encouraging professional and technical talents, the reward system for operational talents should be designed scientifically, so as to bring more excellent talents for the development of Internet medical industry.
