On June 26, 2024, the first conference of the Series Exploration Conference themed "Co-creating the New Era with Kindness and Innovation" was successfully held at the Ginkgo Lecture Hall of Chengdu Tianfu Life Science Park. The event was jointly sponsored by Chengdu Hi-tech Investment Biopharmaceutical Park Management Co., Ltd. and Horizon Exploration Center, in collaboration with colleagues from Sichuan's pharmaceutical industry. The conference was held in a hybrid format, both offline and online, attracting hundreds of enterprises.

      The Series Conference will delve into various critical aspects, including the value of project initiation, R&D efficiency, clinical quality, marketing compliance, capital matching and business development, aiming to identify more pathways to enhance the survival and development of Sichuan's pharmaceutical enterprises. The first conference focused on project initiation.

      The conference officially began at 14:10. First, Ms. Dai Qi from the sponsor, Chengdu Hi-tech Investment Biopharmaceutical Park Management Co., Ltd., delivered an opening speech. She provided an overview of Tianfu Life Science Park. Then, she expressed the sponsor's expectations for the development of Sichuan's pharmaceutical industry and conveyed best wishes for the success of the Exploration Conference.

        Next, Cheng Siyi (Director of Horizon Exploration Center) delivered a speech titled Introduction to Conference Theme: Co-creating the New Era with Kindness and Innovation. In his address, he outlined the contents and directions of this exploration activity conducted by Horizon Exploration Center in collaboration with medical colleagues.

Topic Sharing

        In the following topic-sharing session, Yang Jianyun (Consulting Director & Medical Committee Member of Discovery Center, Pharnexcloud) first shared a topic titled Formulation of Real-world Data Empowered Pharmaceutical Industry Development Strategies.

        Mr. Yang mainly introduced four ways in which real-world data empowers the pharmaceutical industry. Also, he provided an overview and prospects regarding the application of multi-source masked data, data legalization and compliance (data circulation scenarios and forms, and compliant masked healthcare data in multiple cities), key links related to pharmaceutical enterprises in the later stage of empowering, and key links in the drug life cycle enabled by real-world data.

        Later, Tang Xiaoji (former Head of the Strategic Department & Medical Committee Member of Discovery Center, Baiyu) delivered a speech titled "Discussion on the R&D Strategy of Pharmaceutical Enterprises from the Perspective of R&D Productivity".

        First, Mr. Tang shared his opinions on drug R&D strategy——whether to address clinical needs or create value. Then, he explained his opinions by sharing and discussing various metrics, including the number of approved new drugs in leading enterprises, sales performance after approval, average yield of biotech companies and strategies to improve new drug R&D productivity.

        In the future, the park will maintain its commitment to "professional service + targeted incubation" and address the challenges and needs of enterprises within its ground, thereby providing strong support for their high-quality development.
