In the morning on June 5, an interesting "Green Travel Competition" was hosted within Tianfu Life Science Park, Chengdu. The 48th World Environment Day fell on that day, with the theme "Blue sky defense, I am the actor". To carry out the basic state policy of environmental protection and safeguard the blue sea and sky, Chengdu High Investment Biological Medicine Park Management Co., Ltd. called for enterprises and staff in the Park to get involved in the theme activity of environmental protection, green travel, and energy-saving.

Hosted by Chengdu High Investment Biological Medicine Park Management Co., Ltd., the activity used bicycle, which stands for green travel, as a prop for the competition. Players competed with each other in both physical and mental power. Teams relayed to complete the bicycle competition. During the process of riding, they finished challenges like designated garbage sorting, environmental protection-themed poster jigsaw puzzle, and Q&A of environmental protection. The contents centered on sea, atmosphere, earth, energy, and other key fields of environmental protection.

Those at the site said that the competition was very interesting and meaningful as it integrated environmental protection knowledge into the competition. "Previously I took little notice of some environmental protection knowledge, and will pay more attention to it after the competition. I should also know more about precise methods of garbage sorting. Today everyone is gung-ho and very happy." During the several hours, players and the audience gained a better understanding of environmental protection in daily life, and concepts like saving energy, reducing emission, and green travel.

In order to arouse environmental protection awareness and improve hands-on skills, before the competition began, the Park launched an offline-online competition of environmental protection handicrafts. Park staff used garbage to produce useful articles. Those artworks were put online for voting, which was praised by the audience.

Liu Jiao, the main responsible person of the activity and Head of the Quality Security Department of Chengdu High Investment Biological Medicine Park Management Co., Ltd., said, "The Park mainly houses biomedicine-related enterprises, and biomedicine is closely related to environmental protection. On one hand, enterprises should be environmental protection-minded in their operation; on the other hand, the development of modern biological technology will offer key solutions to environmental problems. The activity is designed to call for each enterprise and staff member in the Park to care for environmental protection, and fulfill their social responsibility of environmental protection."
